International Women’s Day, celebrated annually on March 8th, is a global occasion dedicated to advancing the roles, rights, and opportunities of women across all dimensions of society. For 2026, the global theme is “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls,” underscoring that merely speaking about women’s rights is no longer enough. The crucial step forward is taking concrete action to drive real, tangible change.
Over the years, women have played increasingly vital roles in the business world, society, and corporate driving forces. However, traditional mindsets and stereotypes still exist in certain contexts, limiting women’s roles and opportunities. Providing an equal space for everyone to showcase their capabilities is therefore not just a matter of fairness, but a vital catalyst for building a strong, sustainably growing organization. For Sermsang Power Corporation Public Company Limited (SSP), prioritizing diversity, equality, and empowering all personnel to unlock their full potential is a cornerstone of sustainable corporate growth. The company firmly believes that diverse perspectives, experiences, and talents are the key forces driving the organization forward.
On this International Women’s Day, SSP joins the celebration to extend its encouragement to all employees, particularly the female staff who play essential roles in driving the company’s success. The company also reaffirms its commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment where everyone can thrive and fully demonstrate their capabilities.
On this occasion, female executives of the organization shared their insights on the role of women in the workplace, offering valuable perspectives and inspiration for the new generation of women embarking on their career paths.
Ms. Thantaporn Kraipisitkul, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, believes that breaking through traditional societal mindsets is a critical starting point to fully unlock women’s potential.
“Do not let traditional societal mindsets define your potential. Be bold to seize opportunities, challenge yourself with new things, and continuously develop yourself. Growth does not happen to us alone; it can expand and pass on opportunities to countless other women. At the same time, we should support and empower one another. When women help build space and opportunities, it is not only women who grow, but society and organizations will also move forward much more strongly.”
Meanwhile, Ms. Linda Anekratchadaporn, VP Strategy & IR, views that a woman’s potential is not confined by social roles, but rather depends on the opportunities and spaces provided to showcase their abilities.
“Women have the potential to define their own paths, both in life and at work. Opening up spaces where diverse ideas and experiences are heard—whether from men or women—helps the organization grow and move forward with stability.”
She also left an encouraging message for the younger generation of women to believe in their own potential and dare to learn new things.
“Do not limit your value to just the word ‘woman.’ Believe in your potential, open your heart to try new things, and learn continuously on the path to becoming who you want to be.”
On the financial front, Ms. Phavika Smanratana, VP Finance & Treasury, points out that certain stereotypes still exist in the corporate world that compel women to prove themselves more than usual—an issue that needs to be questioned and transformed.
“In the workplace, there is still a stereotype that women must prove themselves more to gain trust. In reality, ability, vision, and accountability are what truly measure a professional’s potential. When an organization provides an equal space for everyone to showcase their talents, we gain diverse perspectives that strengthen the entire company.”
She also shared words of wisdom for the new generation, emphasizing that continuous self-development and self-belief are the ultimate keys to growth.
“Do not limit yourself to conventional beliefs. Trust in your abilities, be bold to learn, take responsibility for the opportunities you receive, and never stop developing yourself. The future is not defined by gender, but by capability, determination, and the value we create for the organization and society.”
International Women’s Day is therefore not just an opportunity to celebrate women’s achievements today, but a powerful reminder of the importance of collectively building an inclusive society and organization where everyone has an equal opportunity to thrive. Because when women are given the opportunity to develop and fully express their potential, it is not only women who grow—it empowers organizations, communities, and the future of our world as a whole.
