Sermsang Palang Ngan Co., Ltd. (SPN), a subsidiary of Sermsang Power Corporation Public Company Limited (SSP), has taken concrete steps to drive its social and environmental initiatives. On June 23, 2026, the company opened its solar power plant in Lopburi province to welcome over 103 faculty members and students from Khok Samrong Technical College, majoring in Electrical Power and Mechatronics.
The “SSP ENERGY CONNECT” project was established under the concept of bridging the gap between educational institutions and the industrial sector to promote empirical learning outside the classroom. More than 20 expert staff members and engineers from group companies—including SPN, SN, SSP, and PPN—joined hands to share their skills and inspire students to pursue careers in clean energy. The learning experience was delivered through three key practical stations: the Career Guidance and Equipment Fundamentals Station, which offered deep insights into renewable energy career paths and essential technologies; the SAFETY Station, which focused on operational safety standards and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); and the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Station, where students studied the solar power generation process using actual equipment and learned about the smart SCADA Monitoring system.
In addition to professional skill enhancement, the visitors and employees jointly planted Pink Shower trees (Chaiyaphruk) under the “SSP Green Haven” project. Organized in celebration of World Environment Month, this initiative aims to expand green spaces within the Lopburi solar power plant—a model site renowned for its systematic biodiversity management. The project is designed to create food sources and habitats for local wildlife, reinforcing the philosophy that businesses can achieve economic growth while sustainably caring for the environment and society.
SPN aims to establish the “SSP ENERGY CONNECT” project as a regular annual event to benefit and foster learning within communities surrounding its power plants. Furthermore, the company plans to extend this academic collaboration by offering future internship opportunities for students from Khok Samrong Technical College. This initiative aims to nurture a high-quality, next-generation workforce ready to drive the country’s clean energy labor market forward.
